17 and a quiet new year

Justin turned 17 on December 29th. We had a nice time celebrating his Birthday with him. During the day was family time. We took him to Lake Havasu City for lunch and then to the movies and then we did a little shopping. Then as any typical teenager, the night was for him and his friends. It so hard to believe how fast time has gone by and then he is almost all grownup and not my little baby boy anymore.

So our new year was not full of partying and a kiss a midnight. Loren ended up in the hospital on New Years Eve. We were so scared and surprised. He was in for seven days. He had two procedures done while there. He had two arteries that were 99% blocked and one 70%. He ended up with two stents and a balloon. He seems to be doing very well since he has gotten out of the hospital. He has been taking walks and seems to have more energy and no trouble what so ever with breathing or having chest pains. We are so blessed to have gotten him to the hospital when we did and that he is doing so well.

Our next not so luck for the new year was Justin had his first accident. It was just a little fender bender in the school parking lot. He ran into the back of Tiffany's car ( his girlfriend) It was a learning experience for him that is for sure.

Not too much else has been exciting or new with all of us. Loren has to make a trip back to Minnesota on Monday for a few days to take care of some business. He is hoping that the weather is not too cold while he is back there. I think he is already getting use to the weather here in Arizona cause even when it is in 50's with a little wind blowing he is complaining that it is cold.

Tuesday the 26th the kids will be on their way to Minnesota for a week to visit friends and family. Justin's best friend Logan will be going on the same flight to visit with some of his family that is in Minnesota as well. The boys are going to hang out together for a couple of days before Justin goes to Grandma Bernice's. The kids are so looking forward to some winter fun and seeing all of our Minnesota family and friends.

Wishing everyone a Happy New Year!
