Home Improvements and other "stuff"

Friday night was nice and relaxing. We had a fire in the fire place on our patio. The kids and Grandpa roasted marshmellows while I just relaxed with a drink and enjoyed the fire.

Then on Saturday the relaxing was over and the mess began......... I have been bugging Dennis for a a while now that I absolutely HATED the ceramic tile that we had in our kitchen and dining room and that I wanted to remove it. Well, being that I do usually get my way after a while my wish was granted! Dennis removing the first pieces of the tile was like a major milestone for me with this house. I think I had gotten spoiled from the last two houses we had were brand new. As the tiles began to disappear so did my clean house! WOW! What a huge mess we made, there was dust and dirt EVERYWHERE and in places I never thought possible.

Thank goodness my Father in-law is here visiting, he has been a big help. We have gotten all the tile removed. The plan for where the tile was is to stain the concrete in the kitchen and dining room. This project won't be completed until next week due to the fact the this weekend the guys (Dennis,Loren,Justin and Justins friend Trevor) are going to Phoenix to see a Coyotes hockey game. So, we are walking on bare cement floors.

Not only are we enjoying having Grandpa a.k.a Dad a.k.a Loren visiting us but so have the dogs, they have fallen in LOVE with him.

I am almost getting a little jealous, I think they love him more than me!!! (haha) I think this was taken one evening after a day of good walks and a trip to the puppy park. These two dogs are sure going to miss him when he has to leave. He has gotten them so spoiled! They are now into a routine with Grandpa. Loren has been here for two weeks now, he is volunteering at the food bank Monday, Tuesday,Thursday and Friday until 1:00 then he comes home and takes the dogs for a walk and then a trip to the puppy park. On Wednesdays Loren goes to Pepsi and helps Dennis out. Loren told me today that the dogs have his routine figured out, that as soon as he walks in the door they go stand by the closet door and wait for Grandpa to get their leashes out. Goofy dogs : o )

Since the boys are off to Phoenix, Keirstan and I are going to have some girl time. I am not working on Friday so I can get some sort of organization back to our house until it gets torn apart again next weekend. Then Keirstan and I are off to Laughlin to do a little shopping and catch a movie and then we are going to go out for a seafood dinner. Should be FUN!
