Time stood still

This past weekend I went to Phoenix and spent the weekend with Kara. It was GREAT! I feel so comfortable with her. It was like we were kids again. It reminded me of old times when we first became friends back in 4th grade. We talked about anything and everything! It was such a good time. I felt like a kid again. Doing things and visiting places I had never done before. The one thing that really made me feel like a kid again is we stayed up till almost 2:00 in the morning talking! Spending time with a friend that I have had for that long is something very special and I will always cherish. I have had some regrets in my life on how I had taken friendship for granted and always thought there would always be tomorrow to make that phone call or take that trip to visit. I have unfortunetly learned the hard way that tomorrow may never come and now I carry that with me each and every day. I think it has even made me be a little distant with some "friends" and not wanting to get close. Kara is the one true friend that I can open up to and be my true self.

Thanks for such a good time Kara. I am so glad I didn't wait till "tomorrow" to visit you.

My Friend
by Sammy Lane Sharp

We all need someoneTo talk to in our life,A friend to whom we runIn times of stress or strifeA friend who's always thereThroughout the years,A friend we know will careAnd take away our fears.A friend who's always near,Waiting for our call,To wipe away our tears,And lift us when we fall.A loving friend indeed,On whom we can dependTo fulfill our every need -Thank you, precious friend
