The New Year

This past week has been busy, busy. Monday started out with waking up to wishing Justin a very happy 16th Birthday and then it was painting time.
Keirstans Christmas present from us was to redecorate her room. We have everything done except we are waiting for the bedding and curtains to arrive.
As soon as her bedding arrives I will post a photo. It should look pretty neat. Even the cat ended up wit some paint on him. We were kinda finding that funny cause her new design is Zebra print bedding and black accents with two tone pink walls.

After we got the paint cleaned off of ourselves it was time to go have a Birthday dinner for Justin. Miranda joined us for the celebration.

Chili's gave him a huge desert for his Birthday. I still am having a hard time accepting that he is actually 16! Wow! I am a Mom of a 16 year old!
New years day we decided to head to Phoenix to look for a vehicle for Justin, that was his Birthday gift from us. While we were in Phoenix we stayed at our good friends house Kara and David. Good times are always had when we are together.

Love this hat! We thought Dennis and Justin would be embarrassed if Kara wore this into the grocery store. What were we thinking?? He was all for it! I think I need to get one of these!
One great bonous to visiting Kara and David and having dinner with them is when we get to eat in. Its better than going to a restaurant! David is the best cook ever!!! I have to say thank you to David for an awesome dinner!

We did not find a vehicle for Justin while we were in Phoenix. But the trip was still worth it. When we got home on Saturday, we were tired and didn't even want to think about looking for a vehicle. BUT, today (Sunday) we did drive over to Mohave Valley not too far from where we live and we did end up finding a vehicle. If everything works out as we have it planned, we will be able to go and pick it up Monday after work. It sounds like the search is over. (I hope)
My goals/wishes for 2009 is to stay healthy and to get back into shape. This past year with all the medical drama and surgery has really given me physically and mentally a rough time. I am going to face things with a whole new outlook and be very positive.
I am also hoping to become a better friend to some people that I have not stayed in very close contact with. I think I have looked at some things in other peoples lives way to critically. I need to realize that I need to accept me for who I am and not worry about what others may think or say.
Best wishes to everyone for a great new year!
